John Dathan is Vice President & General Manager for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Canada. In this role, John is responsible for leading the Canadian Sales organization at HPE. John and his team are dedicated to helping organizations use technology to accelerate business and turn ideas into value. Assisting organizations to define their right mix making IT environments more efficient, productive and secure, enabling fast, flexible responses to a rapidly changing competitive landscape. Through his leadership efforts, John is helping to evolve HPE strategy to maximize customer success and HPE results.
John’s career in IT spans over 30 years. From the early 80’s selling first generation PCs where he developed sales and managerial skills. In the mid-90s, he moved from partner to manufacturer and joined Bay Networks in a sales role which quickly evolved to regional manager for Eastern Canada. Bay Networks was purchased by Nortel where John had various senior roles until 2005. In 2005, he left to join Juniper Networks as leader of Enterprise sales in Canada. During his 9 year tenure, he grew the business by over 500%. In 2014, John joined HP to lead the networking business in Canada which evolved to several sales leadership positions prior to his current role.
John holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce from Concordia University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Finance. He is married and the proud father of 3 children. John has a passion for golf and takes every opportunity to brush up on his game, when his schedule permits. John is also known to be an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
