Session takes place in Hall 3
Traditional constructions techniques for data centers simply cannot keep pace with the demand for facilities on tighter timelines, under stricture budget controls, and with the shortage of skilled talent to lead those projects. The strains on that traditional approach are apparent on any project job site you visit – where the realities of on-site construction collide with delivery timelines that are simply not practical without a new approach.
The very visible strains on traditional construction techniques have a bigger impact, though: they are a bottleneck for the industry as a whole, threatening growth, profitability, quality and safety in the process. Data center construction must become more efficient, faster, more repeatable, and safer. In this presentation, Nancy Novak will discuss how agile construction, off-site pre-fabrication, robotics, virtual reality, multi-disciplinary collaboration and other techniques are already changing the way that data centers are built from the core out to the edge.
