Keith Klesner serves as Senior Vice President of North America at Uptime Institute, and a Tier Certification Authority. In this role, Mr. Klesner has provided leadership and strategic direction to maintain the highest levels of availability for leading organizations around the world. He performs audits, custom strategic-level consulting engagements, and Tier Certifications.

Keith Klesner's career in critical facilities spans 15 years and includes responsibilities ranging from planning, engineering, sustainability, design, and construction to start-up and ongoing operation of data centers and mission critical facilities. In his role, Klesner has provided leadership and results-driven consulting for leading organizations around the world. Klesner performs strategic-level engagements, Tier Certifications, and industry outreach—in addition to instructing premiere professional accreditation courses.

Prior to joining Uptime Institute, Klesner was a Manager for Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services. As the Facilities Services Manager in the Critical Infrastructure Management Directorate, he was responsible for engineering designs, operations management, and facility support systems for a major intelligence community data center. Klesner managed 12 engineers and technicians and the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), providing 24/7 support to this key national facility. He helped establish an effective, multidiscipline Data Center Management Team to integrate facilities and IT management. Klesner previously worked for SKE GmbH, based in Germany. His work led him to establish companies in the then new markets in Italy and Spain and a role as regional vice president.

His early career includes 6 years as a U.S. Air Force Officer. He holds  a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of LaVerne. He maintains status as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
